Description

This little plover was walking across the beach at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Preserve in New York. You can always spot plovers by their behaviour at the shoreline. They will run, stop and peck, run again, stop and peck, and so on. Quite amusing to watch. This one appears to be a "common ringed" plover.
