This Rice Paper Butterfly (Idea leuconoe) was shot at a butterfly exhibit. This butterfly is found in Southeast Asia, Northern Australia and Southern Taiwan. They are specactular to look at and photograph!

In 1997 I bought my first Canon camera and started taking pictures of the wildlife around me. Weekends would find me out with my camera taking pictures of anything that caught my eye, especially the egrets and herons that lived near me. Photography was new to me, but learned along the way on my journey with my new camera. As a self-taught photographer, I am always learning new techniques. It’s a wonderful medium to be able to share with others how I see the world. I will never take for granted all the wonder and beauty that surrounds me every day!
