A peony bud with ants gathering nectar as bud is opening. While they say it is an 'old wives tale' that the ant helps the peony to open, I find the relationship between the ants and the flowers to be truly special.

In 1997 I bought my first Canon camera and started taking pictures of the wildlife around me. Weekends would find me out with my camera taking pictures of anything that caught my eye, especially the egrets and herons that lived near me.
